14 Gauge PCOCC-A Ultra Pure Copper
EXCEPTIONAL VALUE
The PA-23 ZX is a slightly scaled down version of the Tunami cable utilizing PA-2314 GAGE PCOCC-A wire with 2-layer shielding. Yielding performance near the Tunami at one third the price.
CONDUCTOR
This is an ultra pure single crystal copper originally developed by Professor Ohno. It evolved into PCOCC utilizing a single copper grain wire. This design results in an extremely low level of signal disturbance and loss factor due to the lack of crystalline borders in the signal path. We have further improved this technology with a highly controlled heating and cooling annealing process which relieves internal stresses. In addition, the high quality extrusion process creates a wire surface with a mirror finish for optimum signal transmission. It is now called PCOCC-A and it is the epitome of Japanese craftsmanship.
2-LAYER SHIELDING
Shielding cables from external noise is a fundamental requirement. Electromagnetic interference (RFI/EMI) induce noise and distortion. The 2-layer shielding of PA-23 shuts out RFI/EMI coming from outside noise and internally generated noise.
1. The first SEMICONDUCTOR (CARBON PE) layer is used to absorb the random movement of electrons from current fluctuation stored in insulating materials. It discharges static electricity without affecting its conductor.
2. The second COPPER FOIL layer protects the conductor from external noise.
INSULATOR
It is our philosophy at Oyaide to try every possibility until we achieve the best harmony of materials to use. We researched various hardness / density of insulation materials to determine the most ideal resonance control ability. The result was to use varying grades of high polymer polyolefin in the internal structure for the maximum effect. We then developed a method to apply the insulation covering onto conductors with higher tension for a more constant and secure fitting.
POWER PLUG AND IEC CONNECTOR
Proven Silver and Palladium plating combination on blades for wider and even frequency response, dual blade supporting system for secure insulation and firmer hold of blades improved contact and high resonance suppression. Structure is solid, without air space internally. Both connectors are made of highly polished, deoxidized Phosphor Bronze, we apply our proven plating technology with extra thick 1.5 micron SILVER plating directly as the base and 0.3 micron PALLADIUM top-plating to finish. For secure contact and smoother electron transmission, surface smoothness is crucial; we apply thorough polishing (twice each) prior to every plating process.
