1989년 창립자인 Dennis Had에 의해 설립되어 20여년동안 진공관 앰플리파이어 분야에서 부동의 리더 자리를 고수하고 있는 Cary Audio의 최상급 파워앰프입니다.
CAD-211 모델의 Founder's Edition 시스템으로 드라이브단에 300B, 출력관은 845 진공관이 사용되었으며 제로 피드펙(zero feedback) 설계로 클래스 A급(Triode) 증폭 방식의 70와트, 클래스 AB급(push-pull) 110와트의 출력을 갖춘 모노블럭 파워앰프입니다.
1% 메탈 필름(Metal Film)콘덴서 Cardas사의 골드 필름과 호일(Gold Film/Foil)등 최상급 부품들이 투입되었으며, 전면의 바이어스 미터로 진공관의 상태를 테스트하며 최적의 상태로 바이어스를 설정할수 있습니다.
삼극관만이 가지고 있는 포근하고 순수한 음색을 가지고 있으면서 A클래스 70와트의 다이내믹함을 함께 겸비한 하이엔드급 파워앰프로 대형스피커의 매칭에서도 플래그쉽 파워앰프의 충실한 밀도감과 진공관의 깊이있는 질감을 유감없이 발휘하는 제품입니다.

CAD 211FE Specifications
The 211 series of amplifier has had a long history with Cary Audio. The massive mono block with the massive output tubes first came to life over 14 years ago. Since that time it has gone through several changes with the most recent major upgrade to the Anniversary Edition several years ago. We have not only increased power output, but by adding a direct coupled drive system, have added more depth and slam to the amp. While it shares the same basic design with the 211AE, it pushes the performance to new heights.
The first thing that stands out on the new amp is the front panel bias meter. It replaces the “cat eye” power indicator found on previous versions of the 211 and allows the user to monitor the bias setting quickly and easily. Having the bias set correctly is vital to the life of the 845 output tubes and with the lighted front meter, it will be difficult to neglect.
Coupling capacitors have been upgraded to Cardas Golden Ratio Capacitors. These caps feature two golden proportioned dielectric layers which produces “Retained Energy Scaling”. The amount and rate of energy released is split between the two dielectric receptacles in proportion to their constants. We could go more into the science behind these caps, but let’s just say that they are a very smooth, and more musical than other caps we tested. A little pricey and exotic, but worth every penny.
It takes many hours to complete a pair of 211FE amplifiers as all the work is done by hand. Here is a set that has just finished assembly. All the parts have been double and triple checked for placement and value. Near the front of the amplifiers you can see the massive ceramic tube sockets for the 845 output tubes.
After assembly Gerald wheels the beasts to his bench for testing, finishing touches, and quality control. Gerald installs the tube sets, and begins his diagnostics on each unit. When the units pass all testing and measurement, Gerald applies the transformer badges and wheels them to the next phase...
Before any Cary Audio Design component is shipped out the door, it is placed on the “burn-in” shelf for a period of 48 hours.
“Burn-in” is a process of continuously running an audio signal through a powered on unit for an extended period of time to ensure that all of the internal components within the power supply and audio signal chain are properly settled, and to catch any abnormalities within the performance of the vacuum tubes, or the unit itself. This time period also helps the tubes reach maximum temperature to burn off any impurities that may be left on the plates from the manufacturing process. It also helps catch any tubes which may have defects from the manufacturing process. We then pull units at random from the burn-in bench to perform personal listening tests for further evaluation. This process takes place for every Cary Audio Design product manufactured before it ships to ensure that you are receiving the highest quality, most reliable product possible.
And as with all of our amplifiers, you can order a custom car color for the chassis. The unit shown here is painted with Jaguar Carnival Red metal flake. The depth of the metal flake and quality finish adds to the beauty of the 211 FE chassis.
