EXCLUSIVE M4 with high quality sound in Class A operation
This power amplifier is developed for high class audio mania as hobbyist. This is quite different from high efficient and high power operation of class B. The circuit of class A operation has no strain in performance so that it has excellent transient characteristic from low to high power output and stable bass. Realistic bass and transparent high are eminent in class A operation.
Class A operation amplifier with impressive nuances
Differential input stage drives push-pull pre-driving stage and then final power stage of 8 power transistors in 4 parallel connections. Push-pull in Class A operation has no distortion such as notching and crossover distortion. Naturally it has excellent characteristic of sound even before NFB. Power supply stage is not affected by the output current so that it produce stable bass and good transient characteristic of sound.
Peak Level Indicator
Real music power is read directly from peak level indicator.
Logarithmic compression circuit is applied on plain scale for 0.005W-100W (-40dB to +3dB) without changing range of power display. The large outer-magnetic type meter with good damping responds very quickly and correctly at low hearing level as well as at high pulse input.
Enforced cooling fan and protection circuit for safe operation
Class A operation circuit dissipates high heat. Hence the chassis is designed as cooling duct. Moreover the two cooling fans are equipped on the bottom of cabinet. The fans are continuously driven by low voltage for slow rotation without adding loud fan noise. The problem of heat at class A amplifier is solved by large heat sink and cooling fans.
In addition to conventional protection circuit sensing DC output with combination of relay and electric circuit EXCLUSIVE M4 adopts also posistor as heat sensor and thyristor as heat adjuster.
M4 as high class power amplifier is hand-made.
Each product is carefully measured and the actual test sheet is attached on every unit.
